GAULEY BRIDGE, WV - August 8, 2015
All the years I have been stopping by this waterfall, I just recently figured out what the name of it was. Cathedral Falls. I have been coming here ever since I was little on the way to our family camping trips. I remember my cousins climbing to the top. I was always jealous because I wasn't the best climber. But I did enjoy jumping on the rocks, which is what I did this time.
While jumping on the rocks, I stayed nervous because this time I had my pride and joy in my hands, my camera. If I would have fell it would have been a complete disaster. I kept replaying what would happen in my head so I would remind myself to be careful.
Once I successfully made it over to the waterfall, I looked up, and everything was so different from all the times I had been there before. I never figured out what it was. Maybe I was looking at it from an artistic point of view?
There wasn't as much water flowing as there usually is but the textures of the rocks were much more visible than before. I loved the textures of the rocks and the water together. So I got closer.
As I got closer I could feel the drops of water hitting me, the mist from the falls. I was somewhat worried about my camera getting too wet but it seemed to be okay.
I have always loved these falls ever since I was little. Which is why this time, I took my friend who was visiting from Nebraska to see them.
