Hawks Nest

ANSTED, WV - August 8, 2015
The view at the Hawks Nest Overlook is probably one of the best views of the New River Gorge. People usually go in the fall which is nice, but it is nice in the summer and spring too. I remember always stopping here on my family camping trips and I was always impressed with the amazing view. This time when we went it was very humid and it could be seen in the air. I got to bring my friend from Nebraska to enjoy it as well, even though it was ridiculously hot.
When you get to the park, you walk a small trail to the overlook. The trail is lined with different types of trees, which looks pretty in the fall. But I enjoyed the scenery in the summer.
While I was enjoying the view, a butterfly flies around me. I wait for it to land so I can capture a photo of it. I may or may not have chased around like an idiot. But I did get a photo regardless.
It may have been hot outside but it was still a beautiful day for seeing the most popular tourist attraction of West Virginia.
